Designing and manifesting our ideal scene
week beginning 24th April - until 18th June 2017
Tutors: Looby Macnamara and Jon Young
An online course to manifest personal and global healing and transformation through design and action.
Join Looby Macnamara and Jon Young for this exciting new online training where we will guide and empower you to design a pathway to manifesting your visions and goals in your personal, family and community lives. During our time together we will focus on how we can dedicate our energy to finding solutions for ourselves and the world. This will be a richly nourishing, empowering and truly life transforming course.
During the 7 weeks of this course you will be led through a design process to create your own personal design. The process will begin with activities and guidance about what project or area to design that will help move you closer to your ideal scene.
Jon will be sharing about the process widely known as The Renewal of Creative Path and how this can help us reflect on ways to bring connection in our lives and vision the future we would like to create - known as ‘our ideal scene’. Looby will be sharing her expertise about permaculture design, in particular the design web which she created specifically to focus on people based designs. We will have activities that take us through the design web to build our design.
The Renewal of Creative Path process results in something called ‘The Ideal Scene’--really a collection of design ideas and visions for how to make changes to support connection to nature, to self and to other people. Over the years, Jon has always felt the need to help people beyond their Ideal Scenes, referring to outside resources that can help with manifestation process: turning vision into action and measurable results. Ruth Cory, who works with 8 Shields, introduced Jon and Looby with the expressed intent and hope that Looby’s proficiency could help here! The toolkit will also include a primer of the Renewal of Creative Path.
Looby created the design web specificaly for people based designs while writing People and Permaculture in 2012. People and Permaculture is a pioneering book which has widened the definition of permaculture, taking it right into the heart of our own lives, relationships and society, making permaculture relevant to everyone. Since 2012 the design web has been used globally to create hundreds of designs in many different scenarios from personal well-being to nourishing community groups and dynamic organisations. People all around the world have used the design web to bring their dreams into reality, to improve relationships, enhance businesses, and bring groups into alignment. It is used to create effective and flexible action plans that inspire people to bring positive change in their lives. Looby is currently writing another book to expand the lessons learnt about the design web over the last 5 years. This course will share some of those new insights and experiences, resulting in a masterclass in people permaculture design. (see below on details of where to get Looby's books).
During the course you will
This course is designed to help us grow, shift through old patterns and beliefs, and support us in manifesting our dreams, while grounding this vision in a realistic design for ourselves. The foundation for this course is the creation of a design for ourselves, ready to implement. This enables us to integrate the learning into our entire being as well as having a tangible outcome. You will also have an understanding of the design web and how to use it again and again to make the changes you want to see in the world, giving you the confidence and skills to design any aspect of your life in the future.
Throughout the course we will also be referring to the wider context of our lives, communities and culture that are designs are part of. We will be interweaving practices, tools and principles from the Cultural Emergence project that Jon and Looby have been collaborating on over the last year. The cultural emergence project is a proactive search to find, create, and design tipping points towards planetary and people alignment. We will be sharing ways to support social change and positive innovation, so that we can manifest not only our personal ideal scene, but a collective ideal scene for people and planet. We know that supporting connection works for people and for our world as well. We have the tools collectively to really support change in communities. We know this. Now we need to find ways to scale and we need our leadership to be more effective. People will be invited to nurture the visions they hold for themselves, their communities and the world. You will have the opportunity to consider your contribution to the world and empower yourself to keep to your true path in life.
