Sarah Pugh has been teaching Permaculture since 2004 after apprenticing with Mike Feingold and Patrick Whitefield. She is based in Bristol and teaches mainly in an urban setting with occasional forays into the countryside to teach with Patrick Whitefield Associates. She set up the first Transition city in Bristol in 2007. Sarah is Founding Director of Shift Bristol CIC where she co-ordinates and is lead tutor on the year long Practical Sustainability Course that empowers students to take permaculture out into their community. She is founder member of the Bristol Permaculture Group a thriving network of over 1000 members who share skills, resources and cider.
As a lone parent living on the interesting side of the tracks she is keen to make Permaculture accessible and relevant to all. Research for her book on urban permaculture has taken her to several cities in the USA. She is inspired by and works with grassroots permaculture that provides people with food, jobs, creative expression, purpose and a sense of belonging.
